Leadership and Responsibility
Our church is led by a team that is recognized by the church for its ministry. The Bible talks about teams of "elders", a concept that refers to maturity of character and spirituality rather than age. In our everyday language, "pastor" is probably the most common word used to refer to this type of leadership.
| Our leading pastor is Per Arne gjerde. He is accompanied by team members Morten Askeland and Yohans Mehari. |
The leadership of Christian Fellowship is similar to the church: it is characterized as being part of a fellowship. The leadership team does not stand alone, but but together with other Christian leaders through an apostolic ministry called Ministries Without Borders. Our church apostle is Noralv Askeland, who is also one of our elders. We wish to promote Christian unity and see ourselves as a part of the universal Christian church of Bergen, which consists of a wonderful variety of local congregations and churches.
Voluntarism as the heart of the church
The church's ministry is run mostly through the idealistic efforts of many different people. We are privileged to have people who wholeheartedly take responsibility for various areas of ministry, both with regard to practical organizing, including of new people, and overseeing various ministries.
Particularly important areas of ministry are children's and family ministry, youth ministry, media, music and also the various house groups or local groups..
