Employment and Partnership
As an employer, we answer to regular government agencies such as the Employee Register, the Tax Collection Office, the Bergen Municipality church department and the National Insurance Organization.
We have worked in partnership with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) on programs such as KAIA, Arbeid for trygd (Work for Welfare), hosting interns for buddy systems, and accommodating vocational rehabilitation. As employer of civil servants we also cooperate with the Civil Service Administration at Hustad leir (Hustad Military Base).
Finances and Accounting
As recipients of government funds for registered religious groups, we keep accounts to show that our funding is indeed used for religious purposes. The church also rents out its facilities, and this business activity is accounted for with the appropriate tax forms.
Just as it is good and right for a personal Christian to give generously of his/her excess, we as a church wish to use the means over which we have stewardship in order to sow seeds. In recent years we have had the privilege of donating around 1/3 of our income to missions and humanitarian aid projects external to the local Bergen church.
Church accounts and communication with our registered auditor are maintained to meet the requirements and rules specified in the Accounting Act. Our auditor is Steve Aalvik from Bjørgvin Revisjon.
Wages for our employees are set according to public rates for church employees.
